I have decided to realize one more video from home after some nice conversations (about life, music, love, politics, necessary mindful growth for humanity, and several other topics) with dear friends who live far away, and with whom I will not have the chance to have a conversation in person for a while.
There are so many terrible things going on in our world right now, and one can easily have feelings of helplessness.
So, I thought it would be good to focus on the positive for a change, and on the things that are actually possible for us to do.
One of them is to still create some meaningful music together, even though we all have to do it from our own homes.
I am blessed to be surrounded with exceptional human beings, many of whom are exceptional musicians as well. Here are some of them, united thanks to modern technology under a new band’s name: Insights.
“Small Things” came to me a while ago, as I was writing additional material for my band “Colliding Universes”. So far, much of the repertoire had been inspired by Michio Kaku’s book “Hyperspace – an Oddissey through the 10 Dimensions”, but by then I was totally taken by another book: Thich Nhat Hanh’s “For a Future to be Possible”. This very enlightening read made me think of the importance of the very tiny details of life and how the smallest occurance (giving or receiving a simple smile, helping someone without hoping something in return, …) will radically change one’s day, and by extension one’s life.

“Many small things can bring us tremendous joy … We just have to open our eyes and we can see the blue sky, the violet flowers, the children, the trees, and so many other kinds of forms and colors. Dwelling in mindfulness, we can touch these wondrous and refreshing things, and our mind of joy arises naturally. Joy contains happiness and happiness contains joy.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

“Enjoy the little things in life because one day you’ll look back and realize they were the big things.” — Kurt Vonnegut
